The space works so well. We especially like that we were able to make a functional space out of the buffet area. Plenty of space for people to relax and read, gaze out the window, make coffee or have a snack.

Astor Street Pied-à-terre

“design”

After many years in busy Wrigleyville, a long search resulted in finding just the right peaceful and quaint abode in the Gold Coast. This pied-a-terre was almost completely gutted, but several key architectural components of the kitchen and bathroom were incorporated into the final design, respecting it's 1940’s provenance. The flooring was replaced throughout with solid walnut plank. Recessed panel doors and ‘crystal ball’ hardware were added back in to add richness and detail. The living room fireplace and built-ins were created to highlight the client’s unique collection of glass and silver pieces.
